Preview of Louis Vuitton’s Cruise Collection 2011

15 Dec

Say bye bye to dark hues as its time to live up the summer spirit.

Louis Vuitton showcased its Ready to Wear Cruise Collection 2011 in Atlanta on Tuesday (December 14) collaboration with Vogue Magazine

Louis Vuitton’s new cruise collection is all about exciting colors such as bright pastels -baby blues, soft pinks, light lemon yellow, greens , black and minimalistic accessorizing.

Living in brazil, this collection reminds me of having fun on the beautiful beaches of Rio, comparing the color of the sunlight, the blue ocean, bright umbrellas, the nude sand and of course colorful bikinis.

As I scroll down the pictures, the cruise collection reminds me of the 50-60s era, where I see the models sashaying down in old Hollywood style sunnies and tote bags along with their summer dresses.

The cruise collection mainly comprises of sunny short day dresses, summer coats, suits, cocktail dresses, high waisted paints, high waisted shorts, skirts, colorful flats and beach hats.

Love the pink and beige tote placed right behind the runway. I can already imagine myself stuffing it with my bikini and the adorable beach hat.

Keeping in mind the season needs, linen and cotton has been used in majority of the pieces with hints of tweed in a few.

We also got to see the black rain coat recently worn by Leighton Meester for the cover shoot of Allure magazine’s January 2011 issue.

Speaking about 60’s, as I mentioned in my blog yesterday, we also saw a lot of vintage inspiration in H&M’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

I wonder if I need to raid my mama’s old closet to draw some vintage inspiration for myself too.
